Research has made it possible to develop transparent batteries. These batteries are constructed from mainly transparent materials, and materials too small to be noticed by the naked eye. The batteries aren't completely see through, as only 62% of light continues through it. These batteries can be used to help advance technology. transparent displays on windows, or transparent cell phones. These batteries have great potential, but are still limited by their energy output, or therefore lack of. The batteries are about as strong as the ones inside a camera and not nearly powerful enough to support a cell phone. In what ways can we use these batteries?

Rick Chin believes that 8 current forms of technology we have readily available today are going to define how we utilize technology within our near future. Technology is becoming slowly more and more autonomous, to where we need to tell it less, because it already knows more. It is predicted that Google's autonomous vehicle efforts may result in driver-less cars very soon, as they have already been approved within California and Nevada. Would you like to have fully-automated cars?

The watch is often an item we never think about. It's great, so why would we mess with it? But, the Camalien LED watch pushes this idea, seeing how we can make it better. It utilizes bluetooth communications to connect with mobile devices and can communicate with other watches to animate it's LED screen. How would you improve another common item so we can do more with it?

For much time, the printer has not changed. It has been a block and took up much space on or under your desk, then having to allow more space for the paper to come out.  The Circle Printer, a concept of industrial designer Yang Jae Wook, stands upright. By standing upright, this item takes up no more space than a small speaker. The printer is not often rethought, and concepts like this often advance the capabilities of our technologies. Would a more compact device benefit you?

Beneficial or Detrimental?

Technology has become an overly provident source of information within our modern society, as to many of our daily tasks are completed through machines such as computers, or even cell phones. One writer even goes to say how writing a letter just doesn't happen anymore and sooner or later, e-mailing will become a non-existent form of communication. Schools have incorporated technology into their curriculums, forcing students to learn how to use a computer in order to graduate. Services like text messaging, facebook, skype, all take away from communication. When one always knows what is going on because of constant communication, is there much to learn about when physically confronting them?

As we move into the 21st century, technology has become more and more important to the daily aspect of our lives. Technology has been proven to engage students more interactively. The hands on learning is more interactive than normal work. Internet access is also another beneficial tool to learning, since it's accepted use since 2000. "Benefits of Technology."
