Teachers all around the country are looking for ways to improve their teaching. One teacher, Richard Colosi, teaches first grade in Canandaigua. He is trying to set an example of the benefits of technology inside a classroom across the country. Colosi uses iPad's and other iOS devices to teach his first grade class. Students read interactive books and talk to a program to improve their speech. The students prefer to use technology rather than normal activities. Colosi even uses audiobooks for the kids to listen to. Having the students constantly surrounded by the technology, Colosi finds this is a very effective way of teaching the children.
What other ways does the technology benefit the children?
Is there any dissadvantages to the uses of technology?

What Technology Wants, by Kevin Kelly is a book that suggests the idea of technology as not a jumble of metal and wires but as an evolving organism. Technology itself is a rapidly changing thing, and it's uses are virtually endless. Technology can benefit us or hurt us based on our understanding of how we can use it. What are some of the ways benefit us? What are some of the ways technology hurts us?
